I said earlier that gold (and everything else) would continue to go up until "somebody" tightened interest rates. I thought that somebody would be Bernanke, in about 8 months. But China beat him to it. Just further evidence that the USA can't act in a vacuum anymore. The whole world is connected, and so much of our future is tied up in China. This is why I keep saying, when the real crisis hits, it won't matter who the president is.

There's something about space policy that makes conservatives forget their principles. Just one mention of NASA, and conservatives are quite happy to check their small-government instincts at the door and vote in favor of massive government programs and harsh regulations that stifle private enterprise. It's time to abort that mission.
